Job Requirements
Age : 21 – 44 years of age
Education: At least 48 semester hours of credit from an accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 grade point average or 18 months active duty in the United States armed forces and received an honorable discharge.
Experience: No prior law enforcement experience required.
BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE
In order to join the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, candidates must first take the Civil Service Commission Law Enforcement Examination. Candidates must indicate their interest in the Sheriff’s Office by checking the box on the application marked “County Correction Officer” or “County Sheriff’s Officer.”
